Is it free for homeowners to post project requests?
Yes, Renov.at is free for homeowners to use. You can post a project request, receive contractor proposals, and use the platform workspace without homeowner platform charges. You must still independently verify any contractor before hiring.
Does Renov.at guarantee contractor quality?
No. Renov.at is an intermediary platform. We may collect and display contractor profile information, uploaded trade-license status, portfolio projects, and review data, but we do not guarantee, supervise, certify, or control any contractor or renovation work.
How does Lead Targeting & Preferences matching work for contractors?
Renov.at uses Lead Preferences to control who receives general homeowner requests. Exact area matches are prioritized first. If a contractor selects a city but no specific areas, they are treated as serving every area inside that city. Scope and minimum budget filters also apply. If a contractor leaves all Lead Preferences empty, general leads fall back to wildcard matching, which means they can receive all general marketplace leads until they narrow their settings.
Why do you monitor chat conversations on the platform?
Platform communications may be monitored and audited for security, fraud prevention, non-circumvention enforcement, and platform safety. This does not mean Renov.at manages the project, resolves disputes, or guarantees transaction safety.
How are contractor ratings calculated?
We use a dynamic rating calculation that combines platform-submitted reviews after Renov.at project engagements with external Google reviews fetched using a contractor's Google Place ID where available.
